NOW CLOSED...Formerly: Maybe it's the easy-to-pick-up salsa beat or the stiff cocktails, but the only people not moving in this club are those heading to the bathroom or bellying up to one of the three bars…especially on salsa Wednesdays and Sundays.
The bulk of real estate in this one-level club is dedicated to the dance floor, complete with disco balls and laser lights. Even the DJ booth is pushed back in a corner near the red and black leather couch lounging area to maximize dancing space. Come early on Wednesday evenings to boost your confidence with free dance lessons. For nine-to-fivers, Wednesday and Sunday may not seem like the best nights to go out dancing, but the parties get started early (around 6:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.). If that's not incentive enough to duck out of your mid-week routine, perhaps the Wednesday complimentary buffet (starting at 5:30 p.m.) is; small plates and appetizers are available otherwise.
Expect a couples-only vibe, but don't let that stop you from heading here if you're single. Like most salsa clubs, asking or being asked to dance is the norm, as is the sexy dress code. Be sure to bring plenty of cash as cover runs anywhere from $5-$20, cocktails will cost $8-$12 and if it's cold out, expect to pay $4 per item for coat check.
